The mega-guide to Saturday's Michigan at Iowa football game
WHAT: No. 12 Iowa Hawkeyes (5-0 overall, 1-0 Big Ten) vs. Michigan Wolverines (4-1 overall, 1-1 Big Ten).
WHEN: 8:12 p.m., Saturday.Â
WHERE: Kinnick Stadium, Iowa City, Iowa.
LAST MEETING: Michigan claimed a 20-6 victory while hosting Iowa on Oct. 21, 2006. Iowa fell off the schedule the past two years.Â
BROADCAST INFORMATION: Television: ESPN on ABC. Radio: WOMC 104.3-FM; WTKA 1050-AM.
RUNDOWN: Coming off the first loss of the season in a high-profile Big Ten showdown, the University of Michigan football team could use a break from the schedule-makers.
The Wolverines will have to wait a week for Delaware State.
This Saturday, they've got no such luck. Michigan plays No. 13 Iowa on the road ... at night ... in a homecoming game. They'll enter the game as eight-point underdogs and face an Iowa defensive front that's getting a lot of praise.
They haven't allowed a rushing touchdown in 33 quarters. But they only rank sixth in the conference in rushing defense overall, allowing an average of 122.6 yards-per-game on the ground -- a mark established against the likes of Arkansas State and Northern Iowa amid their first five opponents.Â
It's Iowa's pass defense that ranks first in the conference, and perhaps what the Wolverines should be more worried about.
