Spartans squander chance to upset unbeaten Iowa
Ricky Stanzi connected with Marvin McNutt for a 7-yard touchdown pass as time expired and No. 7 Iowa remained undefeated with a 15-13 victory against Michigan State on Saturday night.
The Hawkeyes are 8-0 for the first time in school history and have sole possession of first place in the Big Ten.
Iowa (4-0 Big Ten) has won 12 straight dating back to last season, the second-longest streak in the nation.
Michigan State (4-4, 3-2) had grabbed a 13-9 lead with 1:37 remaining when Kirk Cousins hit Blair White on a 30-yard touchdown. But the Hawkeyes stormed back with a sharp, game-winning drive led by Stanzi.
Adam Robinson had 109 yards on 27 carries for Iowa.
Cousins completed 16 of 32 passes for 225 yards for Michigan State.

Tater, it looks like M may end up playing in the Pizza Pizza Bowl. At any rate, M will be lucky to win one more game with Forcier at the helm and the Delaware State game will not count toward a bowl victory. Here's what I see as M Problems: (1) an overrated freshman QB; (2) small but speedy backs that can only take so many hits before they get injured; (3) disorganization; and, (4) quite frankly, M is just not good right now. BTW. What is your obsession with MSU allowing a player who got in trouble with the law a second chance? Forcier was stopped for runing a red light (someone could have injured or at worst killed as a result of this), found to have a suspensed license for not paying two traffic violations in his home state but yet our local police and city attorney allowed him to go free. Did Forcier not break the law? Do you realize how many young men are in Washtenaw County jail for this very offense? Soemthing doesn't smell right about this.
