Records fell on Wednesday, as the most senior competitors at the 52nd annual Washtenaw Interclub Swim Conference championships took to the one-meter diving board at Huron Valley Country Club.
Dakota Hurbis of Travis Pointe Country Club scored a 279.90 to win the boys 13-14-year-old and break the old record for high score which had stood since 1981. Amy Stevens, also of Travis Pointe, scored a 255.70 to win the girls division and broke a record that had stood since 1989.
In the 15-17-year-old division, Tyler Leach won the boys competition with a score of 266.55, breaking a record set in 2009. Molly Gelb won the girls division with a score of 275.30.
On the team side of things, Huron Valley Swim Club sits comfortably in first place with 3,243.50, more than double the second place Travis Pointe.
The youngest of the swimmers, the under-8 division, competed at Skyline High School. Thursday will be the last day of the competition.
