The CCHA has named Shawn Hunwick its goaltender of the week after he led the Michigan hockey team to three straight wins to open its season.

Hunwick stopped 69 of the 71 shots he faced while Michigan beat Niagara 5-0 on Tuesday and posted a weekend sweep of Bentley, winning 5-1 on Friday and 4-1 on Saturday.

That gave Hunwick, a senior from Sterling Heights, a .074 goals-against average and a .972 save percentage.
