Michigan's Justin Meram drafted by the MLS' Columbus Crew
A Wolverine is headed to Columbus, Ohio.
Michigan senior Justin Meram was selected by the Columbus Crew with the 15th pick of Thursday's Major League Soccer SuperDraft.
"This is a dream come true," Meram told MGoBlue.com. "I have been looking forward to this day for a very long time, and I want to thank my team back at Michigan because I love them and without them none of this would have been possible for me."
Meram is U-M's second first-round selection in the last three years. Peri Marosevic was the No. 5 pick in 2009.
Defending NCAA champion Akron had a record five players taken in the first round of the draft and a record seven players selected.
