Michigan receiver Martavious Odoms probable to play vs. Illinois

By Dave Birkett

Receiver Martavious Odoms was listed as probable on Michigan's official injury report Thursday and is expected to play Saturday against Illinois.

Odoms sprained his knee early in last week's loss to Penn State. He sat out practice Monday and Tuesday, but Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez said Wednesday the sophomore was responding "well" to treatment.

Neither running back Brandon Minor (ankle) nor receiver Junior Hemingway (ankle) were listed on the injury report.

Center David Molk, out for the rest of the year with a torn right ACL, and special teams standout Zac Johnson, out the past month with a shoulder injury, were the only other players listed.

Michigan also announced its captains for Saturday: running back Kevin Grady, defensive end Brandon Graham, receiver Greg Mathews and offensive lineman Tim McAvoy.

The Wolverines (5-3, 1-3) need one win to become bowl eligible.

Illinois (1-6, 0-5) is in last place in the Big Ten.
