Michigan hockey will host 2013 NCAA West Regional in Grand Rapids
The Michigan hockey program will host an NCAA Tournament regional for the sixth time in 2013, as the Wolverines were awarded the West Regional bracket.
The regional won't be played at Yost Ice Arena, though.
Instead, Michigan will host the event at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids. It will mark the seventh time Van Andel has played host to an NCAA hockey regional, and the first time Michigan will host the event outside of Ann Arbor.
The regional is scheduled for March 29-31, 2013.
In addition, the 2013 East Regional will be held at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, R.I. (hosted by Boston University), the Northeast Regional will be held at Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H. (hosted by the University of New Hampshire) and the Midwest Regional will take place at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio (hosted by Bowling Green State University).

Thanks to the NCAA's "ruling" 8 years ago that Yost creates an "unfair advantage" for Michigan, we'll likely never be able to host at Yost ever again. So, when Michigan wins, it's unfair, but when others like North Dakota host and win, it's no problem?
