The Michigan and Notre Dame hockey teams battled back-and-forth for most of the night on Friday at the Compton Family Arena in South Bend, Ind., but the Fighting Irish scored four of the game's final five goals to beat the Wolverines 7-4.

After Notre Dame (17‐11‐1, 13‐7‐1‐1 CCHA) took the lead just one minute, 16 seconds into the game, Michigan (10‐17‐2, 7‐14‐2‐2 CCHA) twice was able to tie the game in the second period, at 2-2 off of a goal from Cristoval "Boo" Nieves, and at 3-3 after a short-handed goal from Skyline High School graduate Andrew Copp.

But both times Notre Dame responded with power play goals as the Wolverines never led in the contest.
