University of Michigan basketball will host Michigan Madness on Oct. 16
For the first time under John Beilein, Michigan basketball will celebrate the beginning of the basketball season with a free public hoops party.
It will be called Michigan Madness and start at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 at Crisler Arena, the night before the Michigan-Delaware State football game.
The night will begin with the "John Beilein Greek Shootout," featuring members of Michigan's fraternities and sororities needing to make a layup, free throw and three-pointer in a bracket-style competition.
Then, at 9 p.m., the Michigan basketball team will be introduced, followed by a skills competition and scrimmages. Both the men's and women's teams will participate.
Michigan's men's team went 21-14 last season. The women's team went 10-20.

I am very excited Michigan is holding this event, although the timing is a little unfortunate since a lot of Michigan students will be heading out of town for Fall Study Break.

This is fantastic. I love everything Beilein is doing with the program. It's so fun to actually be excited about Michigan hoops again. They should bring Petway back for this event.
