Lincoln-Milan holds on to beat Chelsea

By Pete Cunningham

In all the times the Lincoln-Milan co-op high school hockey team has faced Chelsea, the Ralisplitters have never emerged victorious.

Leading 6-2 heading into the third period of the first game of the Southeastern Conference Showcase at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube on Saturday afternoon, it seemed as though they might be able to coast to their first win over the Bulldogs.

Chelsea had other plans.

The Bulldogs fired 19 of their 41 shots in the final period of play, including 10 in the final 6 minutes, to score 4 goals and add some drama to the contest.

The flurry helped Chelsea pull within 1 goal of the lead with 1:30 to play, but Lincoln was able to hang on for a 7-6 win. (Rest of the story | Boxscore)
