Jalen Rose pleads guilty to drunken driving in Oakland County court
Former Michigan basketball player Jalen Rose pleaded guilty to drunken driving in an Oakland County court today, according to The Associated Press reports.
Rose, who admitted he had six martinis before his March 11 arrest, faces up to 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.
Rose's Cadillac Escalade crashed about 20 miles northwest of Detroit in West Bloomfield Township and registered a 0.088 blood-alcohol level. The state's legal limit is 0.08. He and his female passenger were not injured.
After three years at Michigan as part of the famed Fab Five recruiting class -- a group he documented in an ESPN film -- Rose spent 13 seasons in the NBA.
He is currently a basketball analyst for ESPN. The network had briefly suspended him for failing to report the arrest.

What a crock. 30 years ago, 0.0088 wouldn't have even been called "impaired." At least 50 percent of people leaving any bar after midnight have a BAL as high or higher than Rose. If this was anyone but a celebrity, it would be pled down to something like reckless driving. It's really a shame that you don't have to be drunk to be considered a "drunk driver" anymore.
