Wednesday's field hockey match between Pioneer and Huron wasn't just for bragging rights between the cross-town rivals. Entering the game with identical 11-1 records, the Pioneers and River Rats were supposed to settle which of them would enjoy the top seed in the upcoming Michigan High School Field Hockey Association Division I state playoffs.

In the end, 60 minutes wasn't enough to settle anything as the rivals battled to a 1-1 tie.

Both teams left the field looking disappointed to not leave with the win. The bi-partisan crowd that shook the bleachers for their respective sides filed out silently, already clamoring about when the teams might meet again. (Rest of Story & Photo Gallery | Boxscore)
