The Whitmore Lake boys track team went against the big boys at the Division 2 portion of the Kermit N. Ambrose Huron Relays at Eastern Michigan's Bowen Field House on Friday. The Trojans stood with the best of them, taking second place.

North Farmington won the event.

"We're one of the smallest, if not the smallest school at this meet, so I'm definitely pleased with our performance," said Whitmore Lake coach Bill Bellers. "We had a lot of great performances today, especially for this early in the season."

The team of Ronnie Milbocker, Zach Carpenter, John Munro and Alex Dewey took first in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 8-minutes 33.01-seconds. The Trojans also won the distance medley relay with a time of 11:02.57 with the team of Ravi Orlewicz, Milbocker, Munro and Carpenter.

Steven Machin won the 60-meter hurdles in a time 0:8.27. (More boys results)

On the girls side, Chelsea took home second place honors as well, with Divine Child winning comfortably.

Lauren Dark took home the lone first place for the Bulldogs after clearing 9-feet in the pole vault.

"This was a total team effort," said Chelsea coach Pat Clarke. "We had almost every girl achieve a (personal best). It was a great way to start the season. We tried to get everyone involved and it worked out just fine." (More girls results)

The Invitational will resume Saturday with the Division 1 portion of the event. Among the Washtenaw County participants will by Ypsilanti Lincoln, Saline and Pioneer.
