high school football: Vote in the AnnArbor.com Week 3 'Game of the Week' poll

Posted on Sat, Sep 1, 2012 : 1:56 p.m.

Next week's game of the week voting began Friday afternoon, so be sure to chime in on the poll below and get us out to see your team next week.

Next Friday, Southeastern Conference play gets underway with cross-divisional play between teams from the Red and White.

Traditional SEC White power and perennial playoff contender Adrian will travel to Saline to take on the Hornets. Adrian will be looking to avoid it's first 0-3 start since 1998, but is facing a high-powered Saline team that looks rejuvenated under first-year coach Joe Palka and his son/senior quarterback Tyler Palka.

Pioneer is also looking to avoid an 0-3 start and will travel to Dexter to take on the also winless Dreadnaughts. The game is more than just a game for former Dexter head coach Tom Barbieri who joined the Pioneer coaching staff after being fired as Dexter head coach two seasons ago.

Also trying to avoid its first 0-3 start in more than a decade is Chelsea who travels to Temperance Bedford to take on the always strong Kicking Mules at arguably the toughest place to play in the entire SEC.

In Ann Arbor, Skyline will look to get its second home win in a row in taking on Lincoln. Both fan bases have traditionally been very active on AnnArbor.com polls, so it will be interesting to see if any of the other students can circle the wagons like the Eagles and Railsplitters.

In non-SEC action, Ypsilanti Willow Run hosts Detroit Allen Academy and will look to win its first home of the season and pick up its first point in the Michigan Metro Athletic Conference standings as well.

Voting goes through next Tuesday at 6 p.m., so if you want your team to get the Super Bowl treatment from AnnArbor.com, vote early and vote often!
