Theresa DiDonato's overtime goal pushes Huron past Pioneer in state finals

For the third year in a row the Huron High School field hockey made the state finals and for the third straight year it was an all-Ann Arbor affair, as the five-time defending state champion Pioneer Pioneers stood in the River Rats way of a state championship once again.
Unlike the previous two years it was the River Rats who emerged victorious on Saturday, defeating Pioneer 1-0 in front of a home crowd at Riverbank Stadium.
“This isn’t just these girls, it’s the whole program, everybody who’s played on this field,” said Huron coach Tia Sutton. “I’ve got all the alumni in my phone, I’m going to text them as soon I get done.”
