After Saline's Reese Dils knocked down his eighth shot on his eighth attempt in the second quarter Tuesday night, Chelsea coach Robin Raymond had seen enough and called a timeout.

As the Hornets jogged back to their home bench, Saline coach Jay Plitzuweit had a directive for them.

"Nobody touch Reese," he barked. "He's on fire."

Dils stayed hot, pouring in a career-high 37 points on 13-of-16 shooting, as Saline rolled to a 58-38 home with over Chelsea.

"Reese moved very well without the ball, and when he got open looks he buried them," Plitzuweit said.

The only one in the gym who seemed unimpressed with Dils' performance was Dils himself.

The sophomore shrugged off the 37-point effort like it was routine, and listed off a few comparable shooting performances he'd had in his young career.

Dils' hot shooting had an unmistakable effect on the rest of his team, however, as the Hornets collective confidence grew with each shot Dils hit.

He knocked down four jumpers in the first quarter—two of them 3-pointers—as Saline took a 14-13 lead.

By the middle of the second quarter, Dils had already scored 21 points, and Saline had a 29-15 lead.

"Saline came out and when Reese hit a few shots to get going early, they were really playing with a lot of confidence," Raymond said.
