Huron hockey gets rude awakening in 8-0 loss to Southgate Anderson
SOUTHGATE -- Comparing its last scrimmage to its season-opening performance, the Ann Arbor Huron boys hockey team turned 180 degrees, according to Huron coach Bill DeGroot.
However, it wasn't in the right direction.
Huron was mercied 8-0 on the road by Southgate Anderson in a Metro League contest Wednesday in Southgate.

"It was the first game of the year and we looked like it," said DeGroot, whose team was outshot 35-11. "It was like a 180-degree day where we pretty much forgot how to play hockey."
The River Rats (0-1) fell behind 3-0 in the first period before allowing two goals in the second and another three in the third. Southgate Anderson's eighth goal came in the final minutes to end the game with a mercy rule.
