For more than 42 minutes, the Pioneer High School boys hockey team couldn't find the back of Allen Park's net.

So it was somewhat of a silver lining for the Pioneers when they scored two goals in a two-minute stretch late in their 5-2 Metro Hockey League loss to the Jaguars Wednesday at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.

"It was the first time we scored two goals in a game in a month, let alone in a period," said Pioneer coach Steve Armstrong.

"We haven't been a good goal-scoring team. Some of that is because we don't necessarily make good choices. We have chances to shoot the puck and get to the net ... and we don't." (Rest of the Story & Photo Gallery | Boxscore)
