EAST LANSING (AP) -- Senior Joe Dunn was Mr. Everything for the Milan High School football team this football season. Dunn was the Big Reds’ leading rusher on offense and the leading tackler on defense, but it is his work as a punter that earned him a spot on the Associated Press Division 3-4 All-State first-team.

During the regular season, Dunn (6-foot, 216 pounds) punted 28 times for an average of 44.5 yards, including eight punts over 50 yards and a long of 59. He had 18 punts downed inside the 20-yard-line. The team’s leading rusher with 759 yards on 110 attempts, Dunn was especially effective in fakes, converting 4-of-5 attempts for first downs.

Dunn also had 18 receptions for 281 yards receiving and over 100 tackles on defense.

Ypsilanti High School senior linebacker Marquez Gollman and Chelsea High School senior receiver Mason Borders were both honorable mention, meaning they garnered one or no votes from the 11-member panel of sportswriters from across the state.

Gollman (5-11, 173) led the Phoenix with 97 tackles (76 solo), 11 sacks and two interceptions this season. Borders (6-4, 175) had 32 receptions for 755 yards and eight touchdowns.

East Grand Rapids High School quarterback Ryan Elble is the AP’s Division 3-4 Player of Year.

Elble threw 156 passes this season without an interception before finally being picked off in the 12th game. He has completed 111-of-162 attempts for 1,622 and 28 touchdowns.

East Grand Rapids is 27-0 with Elble as the starter, winning the Division 3 state championship in 2009. East Grand Rapids will play Orchard Lake St. Mary’s on Saturday at Ford Field in Detroit in the Division 3 state championship game.
