Ypsilanti Community High School started its first-ever football game on Friday night, but didn't come away with its first win or loss. The game was called in the third quarter due to lightning with Milan ahead 7-6. The teams will resume play Saturday at 2 p.m.

What is with the resumption of the game? I distinctly remember being at games that were called due to weather (lightning) and that was it. Whatever the score was it became final.

I think both sides have to agree to the game being final and with this game being so close and with so much time left, neither wanted that.

If you are saying this is the first ever meeting between Ypsilanti COMMUNITY High and Milan then EVERY game MCHS plays this season will be their first ever meeting. Milan and Ypsilanti have played their respective season opening games for a few years running.

The game was played at Ypsilanti BobbyTarsus. I think it's terrible that Willow Run High got lost in this merger. I do understand that it should and needed to happen but they did it wrong..both schools really.
