Saline High School senior Karla Gross did her part to ensure her golf team would get the opportunity to defend its 2010 state title on Thursday. Gross took medalist honors at the Division 1 regional tournament after shooting a seven-over par 78 at the University of Michigan Golf Course and Saline qualified for next weekend's team state championships by finishing in second place. Pioneer also qualified as a team after finishing in third place and Huron junior Madison Smith qualified individually after shooting a 92.
