Five Southeastern Conference champions were determined on Wednesday, with Saline High School bringing home a pair of trophies in girls track and boys golf.

Saline and Huron nearly evenly split the first-place finishes at the SEC Red girls track championship, with the Hornets winning nine of 17 events and the River Rats picking up the other eight.

Saline’s depth helped them run away with the team title, however, outscoring Huron 204-118. (Complete results)

Huron’s Cindy Ofili (100 dash, 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles, 800 relay) and Maya Long (200 dash, 400 dash, 800 relay, 1,600 relay) were each part of four victories.

Saline got double wins from Randi Bennett (discus, shot put), Elianna Shwayder (1,600 run, 3,200 relay), Abby Rentschler (3,200 run, 3,200 relay) and Samantha Richart (high jump, 400 relay).

The winners at the SEC White girls track championship were much more spread out.

Lincoln won the team title behind individual wins from Tierra Williams (100 hurdles) and Bria Williams (300 hurdles). The Railsplitters also won the 400 relay on their way to a team score of 139.5 points.

Second-place Chelsea had six wins and third-place Dexter won three events. (Results)

Ypsilanti’s Endia Francois won four individual events, taking first place in the high jump, long jump, 100 dash and 200 dash.

Ian Martin (72), Caleb Wittig (72), Jackson Lambert (74) and Ryan Peruski (74) gave Saline a 292 total.

Connor Lang shot a 73 for Skyline and Nick Margolis a 75 for third-place Pioneer. (Complete results)
