Milan wrestlers topple Huron League-leading Riverview and other Wednesday results
Entering its match with Riverview on Wednesday, the Milan High School wrestling team didn't seem to have much of a chance at upsetting the Huron League-leading Pirates. Riverview sat atop the league standings at 5-0, while Milan was near the bottom at 1-4.
The records don't tell the whole story, however, as Milan compiled many of its losses while forfeiting five of 14 weight classes earlier in the season. The Big Reds proved they're a drastically improved team now that they have 13 weight classes filled, defeating Riverview 43-32.
"It was just a great win for us," said Milan coach Gary Jonseck. "Our kids all got to their weights and they were all just really tough tonight." (Rest of the Story)
