Leading two-sets-to-one, Pioneer found itself trailing 19-15 in the fourth set of its Southeastern Conference Red match with Monroe. In order to avoid a fifth set, the Pioneers needed points, and quickly.

Led by the efforts of Alida Schat, they got those points.

Schat leapt at net and stuffed a Monroe spike, then smashed kills on the next two points to send jump-start a Pioneer comeback. Pioneer rattled off seven straight points, and eventually won the game when Schat dug a Monroe serve, Chaeli Wantuck set it to Nya Greenstone, and Greenstone buried it to end the game 25-21, and the match in four sets.

It had been the hard-hitting Greenstone who carried the Pioneers for much of the night with timely kills, but in Pioneer's crucial stretch at the end of the fourth set, Greenstone was in the back of Pioneer's formation, and Schat became the prime outside target for Pioneer sets.
