For the Father Gabriel Richard High School football team, the path to Ford Field will go through Howell.

Howell High School was announced Sunday as the site of the Irish's Division 5 semifinal game against Portland. The two teams will kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Gabriel Richard qualified for the game by winning the first regional title in school history Saturday, 16-6 over River Rouge. The winner of Saturday's semifinal will play either Menominee or Grand Rapids West Catholic in a state title game scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at Ford Field.
