PINCKNEY - The Dexter volleyball team defeated Class A district tournament host Pinckney 3-0 to advance to the semifinals, while Pioneer’s season came to an end with a 3-2 loss to Brighton in the first round of districts at Pinckney High School on Monday.

Pioneer jumped to a 5-1 lead in its first set, but Brighton bounced back to win the set 25-17. It would prove to be a theme on the night.
