Clinton versus Manchester rivalry to kick off Big Day Prep Showdown VII
This fall, the Manchester and Clinton high school football teams will meet on the gridiron for the 110th time in the history of the rivalry. And for the second year in a row, neither team will have a home field advantage.
Manchester and Clinton will for the second year in a row play in the opening game of the Big Day Prep Showdown at Eastern Michigan University's Rynearson Stadium. The teams will kickoff the three-day event, put on by Detroit Sports, Thursday, Aug. 25 at 5 p.m.
Manchester defeated Clinton in last year's opener, 38-23. Since Clinton gave up a home date to play in the 2010 Big Day Prep Showdown, Manchester will do the same this year.
Two more Washtenaw County teams are scheduled to play in the three-day event with the possibility of more still to come. On Friday, Aug. 26, Skyline will take on Hartland at 5 p.m. followed by Chelsea vs. Novi at 8 p.m.
There remains a slot open for Saturday, Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. In recent years, Saline, Huron and Pioneer have all played at the Big Day Prep Showdown.
Here is a complete schedule as announced by Detroit Sports:
THURSDAY, AUG. 25 Clinton vs. Manchester, 5 p.m. Sterling Heights Stevenson vs. Howell, 8 p.m.
FRIDAY, AUG. 26 Skyline vs. Hartland, 5 p.m. Chelsea vs. Novi, 8 p.m.

With 2 other teams to still be announced, I would think that due to the fact that Eastern Michigan University & Rynearson Stadium are in Ypsilanti, It would be nice to see Ypsilanti High school, Ypsilanti Lincoln, or Ypsilanti Willow Run to get an invite.
