Chelsea boys escape from Dexter with a 1-point win

In a grind-it-out, defensive battle between the Chelsea and Dexter boys basketball teams, it seemed inevitable that the rivalry game would be decided in the final seconds.

It was.

Dexter, trailing by one point with 12 seconds on the clock, pushed the ball the length of the floor and lofted a contested layup attempt as the buzzer sounded. The potential game-winner bounced wide off the backboard and Chelsea escaped with a 36-35 road win Friday night. (Rest of the Story & Photo Gallery | Boxscore)
