Karla Gross (jr.), Saline: Gross came up big for the Hornets when her team needed her most, finishing 7th overall at the Division 1 state tournament with scores of 78 and 79, leading Saline a state championship. The Washtenaw County Co-Player of the Year, Gross was a Division 1 All-State selection for second consecutive year this season. She carded a season-best 74 on the par-72 University of Michigan golf course at the Ann Arbor Invitational in September. Shannon Fraser (sr.), Saline: Fraser’s scores of 80 and 83 at the Division 1 State Tournament put her one stroke outside of the tournament’s top-10. Betsy French, Saline: French said all season that her team’s strength was their depth, with five players capable of shooting low scores. But the key, she said, would be getting them all to shoot well at the same time. The Hornets did just that at the state tournament, as four Saline players shot in the 70’s or 80’s on both days of the competition, and won the Division 1 state championship, after a second place finish in 2009.

Jessie Schlanderer (sr.), Dexter: Schlanderer had a nine-hole scoring average of under 45 strokes this season, and carded a 92 at regionals. She was the vocal leader of the Dreadnaughts team that qualified for their tenth straight state tournament.
