with poll: Hey Ann Arbor, what are your plans for Tigers Opening Day?
It's a reason to play hooky and an excuse to celebrate. It's one final reminder that, despite the recent dips in temperature, summer isn't far off.
Oh and, by the way, there's a decent (and sold-out) baseball game being played, too.
The addition of free agent first baseman Prince Fielder gives Detroit Tigers fans a little extra to cheer about on Opening Day.

A sellout crowd in excess of 41,255 is expected at Comerica Park when the Detroit Tigers host the Boston Red Sox (1:05 p.m., FSD) and tens of thousands more revelers will fill the streets, parking lots, bars and restaurants of downtown Detroit.
Always a big draw in baseball towns across the country, this Opening Day in Detroit comes with some extra excitement. The addition of free agent first baseman Prince Fielder has raised expectations for the defending American League Central Division champions. Fifty ESPN baseball analysts made their predictions on Wednesday, and all 50 picked the Tigers to win the Central Division again.
We're wondering how Washtenaw County residents will spend their Opening Day. Did you (cough, cough) call in sick? Are you a die-hard Tigers fan who'll fidget with every pitch? Or maybe you're more the type that just can't pass up a good party (if that's the case, MLive.com entertainment reporter Ashley C. Woods offers a few suggestions on where to watch the game).
