Suffering from burnout because of nonstop training for the Olympics, University of Michigan graduate Peter Vanderkaay nearly retired from swimming.

Instead, after working with new U-M coach Mike Bottom, Vanderkaay is not only having fun again, he's aiming for the 2012 Olympics in London, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Jo-Ann Barnas caught up with Vanderkaay and details his upcoming plans in a story for today's editions.
