Former Eastern Michigan soccer player Ashley Rodrigues tries to boost Guyana into Women's World Cup

Ashley Rodrigues, whose four-year soccer career at Eastern Michigan ended in 2009, is the captain of the Guyana team trying to make the Women's World Cup field, EMUEagles.com reports.

Rodrigues scored her fourth goal in seven games on July 3 as Guyana beat Cuba, 3-1.
