Two members of the Eastern Michigan University baseball team were named to the All Mid-American Conference teams, the conference announced Tuesday, May 21. EMU designated hitter Lee Longo picked up First Team All-MAC honors while catcher Adam Sonabend earned Second Team All-MAC accolades. The teams were voted on by coaches at the 12 MAC member institutions.
Four individual athletes as well as a 4x100-meter relay team will represent the Eastern Michigan University men’s track and field team at the NCAA East Preliminary Round, May 23-25. The three-day regional meet will be contested on Irwin Belk Track inside Aggie Stadium in Greensboro, N.C., hosted by North Carolina A&T State University.

The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team was proud to give back to the Ypsilanti community Saturday, May 18, by participating in Ypsilanti P.R.I.D.E. Day. These student-athletes joined other groups at Ford Lake to remove litter from the shoreline and help beautify the park.
Eastern Michigan University men's golfer Stuart Grehan tied for sixth place at the Mullingar Scratch Trophy, May 18-19. After 72 holes, Grehan finished with a 288 (72-73-68-75).
The EMU women's rowing team posted a pair of fifth place finishes from the Varsity Fours and Second Varsity Eights crews and finished with a tie for fifth place with the University of Delaware at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships Sunday, May 19, at Sandy Run Regional Park.
The EMU baseball team's season came to a close Saturday afternoon, May 18, as the Eagles dropped, 6-5, to the University of Toledo, in the rubber match of the series at Oestrike Stadium. With the loss combined with wins by Bowling Green State University and Central Michigan University means the Eagles will miss out on the conference tournament for the first time since 2005.
The Eastern Michigan University baseball team kept its Mid-American Conference Tournament hopes in its own hands with a 10-4 victory over the University of Toledo, May 17, at Oestrike Stadium. The Eagles evened the series and can now clinch a MAC Tournament berth with a victory in the rubber match Saturday, May 18.
EMU Head Baseball Coach Jay Alexander announced that the start time of Saturday's game against the University of Toledo has been moved up two hours. Originally scheduled for 3 p.m., the May 18 senior day tilt will now begin at 1 p.m.

EMU women's basketball Head Coach Tory Verdi announced the signing of 6-foot-1 junior college All-America guard/forward Sashana Bucknor of ASA College in Brooklyn, N.Y.
EMU swimming and diving's Briana Emig was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Women's At-Large First Team in District Five by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), May 17. The fifth district is the geographical region of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio from which 11 players were chosen for this award.
