Denaya Brazzle, a transfer from Chipola College in Marianna, Fla., and Bianca Cage, from Southwind High School in Memphis, Tenn., committed to play for first-year coach Tory Verdi in the 2012-13 season.

“Denaya is a strong guard who can play multiple positions,” said Verdi of the 5-foot-6 Brazzle, a native of Portland, Ore., who will have junior eligibility with the Eagles. “We expect her to bring experience into the backcourt.”

Cage averaged 19.8 points at Southwind and set the Tennessee state record with 13 3-point shots in one game.

“Bianca is a true scoring guard,” Verdi said in a statement. “She has the ability to score in so many ways. When it is all said and done, I know Bianca is going to have a special career at EMU.”
