Eastern Michigan softball team mercied at Notre Dame, 10-0

One night after taking No. 23-ranked Michigan to extra innings, the Eastern Michigan softball team suffered a mercy-rule shortened, 10-0 loss at Notre Dame.

Notre Dame (33-13) starter Laura Winter blanked the Eagles on four hits through four innings, leading the Irish to their 12th straight win Wednesday at Melissa Cook Stadium in South Bend, Ind.

Dani Miller drove in four runs and Alexa Maldonado scored three times for Notre Dame, which took its 10-0 lead with a five-run third inning. (Boxscore)

The Eagles (21-32) committed six errors, leading to three unearned runs. EMU pitcher Jenna Ignowski allowed eight hits and six walks in four innings.
