Senior linebacker Marcus English, coming off a 10-tackle, one-sack game in a 14-7 Eastern Michigan victory against Alabama State, was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week.

English also had 3.5 tackles for a loss as Eastern Michigan (2-0) limited Alabama State to minus 13 yards rushing.

English and the Eagles will face Michigan (2-0) at noon Saturday at Michigan Stadium (BTN).
