By AnnArbor.com Staff

Eastern Michigan sophomore forward Jamell Harris notched the first double-double of his career, scoring 17 points and hauling in 13 rebounds, helping EMU move past Madonna University, 79-70, Wednesday in the Convocation Center in Ypsilanti.

Additionally, Harris racked up seven blocks, breaking the Convocation Center's previous record of six held by three opposing players.

Antonio Green and Darrell Lampley added 17 and 11 points, respectively.

The Eagles (1-1) built a 45-27 halftime lead that Madonna chipped away at in the second half. EMU went a four-minute stretch in the half without scoring.
