Big Ten preview: A look at the Iowa Hawkeyes
Need a refresher course on the Iowa Hawkeyes?
You're not alone.
It's been nearly three years since Michigan and Iowa met on the football field, and a lot has changed since the Wolverines' 20-6 victory on Oct. 21, 2006.
Iowa fell off Michigan's Big Ten schedule for the past two years, but return on October 10 when the Wolverines travel to Iowa City in a matchup that will pit the Wolverines against last year's lone Big Ten bowl winner.
So what do you need to know - or in some cases remember - about the Hawkeyes?

Shonn Greene, Iowa's prolific running back from last season, is now turning heads in the NFL. How the Hawkeyes go about replacing Greene is their most pressing question. No doubt, Jewel Hampton has some big shoes to fill. What else has changed? Well, maybe not as much as we think. Much like 2006, Iowa is expected to be in the middle of the Big Ten pack, according to AnnArbor.com reporters Dave Birkett and Michael Rothstein in today's edition of "For Argument's Sake."
Coach Kirk Ferentz is the latest person this week to speak about the Big Ten's inferiority to the SEC and overall poor bowl record, and largely blames the messenger for the conference's current perceived ailments.
And finally: If you ever wondered whether Kirk Ferentz has followed uber-blogger coaches like Lane Kiffin onto Twitter or if he sympathized more with the Luddite leanings of Joe Paterno, this story in the Cedar Rapids Gazette should definitely answer the question.

IA may struggle on offense this season. It will be interesting to see how UM plays on the road in IA city. This will be one of those toss up games, along with road games to MSU and WI. If we can take 2 out of three we will be in good shape!
