The Eastern Michigan men's basketball team's Wednesday night game at Ohio University has been canceled because of an armed robbery that occurred at the campus in Athens.

As of noon on Wednesday, police were still searching for a gunman who robbed a female on campus around 9:42 a.m. according to an AthensOhioToday.com report.

A representative for the Eastern Michigan confirmed the basketball team was in Athens and will be returning to Ypsilanti on Wednesday. The team was scheduled to play Ohio at 7 p.m.

The Ohio campus was closed due to the incident and it is Ohio University policy to cancel all events on campus. The game has officially been rescheduled and will be played on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. according to a release from Eastern Michigan.

I hope OU is paying for the teams travel. No reason EMU should have to pay out of pocket because the campus cops in Athens can't give the all clear on an armed robbery 7 hours prior to an event.

These Michigan teams will do whatever it takes, to avoid any team from the Buckeye state! LOL
