Formerly located downtown, Metzgers is one of Ann Arbor's only truly authentic German restaurants, and has been around since 1928. Though it's now in a new location on the west side of town, it still retains its Old World charm, with pictures of scenes from Germany, as well as nick-nacks, throughout the large space. This is hearty, heavy cooking, where dishes like schnitzel, rouladen, potato pancakes and knackwurst are a focal point. There are also seafood, chicken and pasta entrees.
