Scary, festive and fun pets are the focus of this week's Pet Photo Friday

We invite our readers to interact here on the pets section any chance we get, and one thing is evident: people are passionate about their companion animals, no matter what breed they are. And as we see at the end of each week, they like to show off their cute pet photos!

It's always fun to see what our readers lives are like with their own pets and other animals, and there are always interesting stories to tell.

Last week, we talked about a study that suggested that viewing image of cute animals promotes productivity and overall happiness. If that isn't a good reason to check out our weekly slideshow, we don't know what is!

This week, you'll see all sorts of pets, including spooky-looking and festive dogs and some very cute cats. With Halloween almost here, it's clear that pets are all too happy to join in on the fun!

It's all in good fun!

With Halloween fast approaching, it only seems fitting that the slideshow for this week, and next, we're featuring pets who are in the spirit of the season. Does your pooch like to dress up for Halloween? Have you captured a special photo of your pet in a festive or scenic setting?

Participating in our weekly photo blog is easy — simply email a photo of your pet to ppsa2mi@gmail.com any time for our weekly Pet Photo Friday feature.

Be sure to include the name of the animal(s), as well as their age and city or township of residence in your email. Photos should be 1,200 pixels wide and in .jpg format.

We put the week's photos into a slideshow, publish and promote each Friday here in the Pets section.

Was it sheer luck, or is there a technique to making Casey's eyes green like a cat's eyes? Green eyes do go along with a liger (part lion, part tiger) costume.

Just sheer luck........ I guess instead of your standard "red eye" Casey came out with "green eye!
