Tripper, a 9-year-old Siberian Husky mix, waiting for adoption at HSHV.

Senior dogs, like our pet-of-the-week Tripper, make wonderful companions for the right family. Most are super-loving, settle in very quickly, hardly ever make a mess, and don’t require 24-7 attention.

All these things are true about Tripper, plus if you add very affectionate, incredible smart and easy to walk to the list, you can see why Tripper might be the dog you’ve been waiting for. Our staff adore him and his easy manner and calm nature provide our volunteer dog walkers with an easy stroll around the yard.

This 9-year-old, friendly gentleman, was found as a stray, starving and matted. He wears his coat now to keep him warm, but his fur is growing back. He may have a bit of hearing loss, but that does not bother Tripper. If you have room in your heart and home for a senior dog, please come and visit Tripper. He has been waiting for a home of his own at the Humane Society of Huron Valley since December. Spring is the season for love, and Tripper would love to watch TV at night, snuggled up next to you.

HSHV is open daily at 11 a.m. for adoptions. All pets available for adoption are spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, medically and behaviorally evaluated, and they have a microchip ID all included in their low adoption fee. Please make adoption your first option.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley, located in Ann Arbor, was awarded the “Best Large Animal Shelter in Michigan"; by the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance, for the second time in a row this year, for saving the most lives.
