Meet JR - AnnArbor.com's Pet of the Week

You might remember seeing me here before. My name is JR (short for Jack Russell I'm sure). I was the AnnArbor.com 'Pet of the Week' a little over a month ago. Unfortunately I am still at the shelter.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the staff and volunteers at the Humane Society of Huron Valley. They take very good care of me. I get three walks a day, good food, treats, and they have even taught me to do agility. Everyday, I hear someone say "I can't believe JR is still here. He's a nice dog." Boy, it sure would be nice to have a home and family someday soon.

After my neuter surgery I was fitted with a ridiculous cone because I was picking at my stitches. Just to show people how smart and agile I am, I begged to go into the play room and I proceeded to run the entire agility course - cone and all. The people could not believe it and took a video of me.

Check out the video!

I am about 2 years old. I wasn't given enough attention and was left on my own, so I wandered away from my former home and was picked up and brought to HSHV. I have a hard time trusting other animals, so I'd prefer a home with no dogs or cats please. I am a good dog though; I just need love, exercise and attention. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I need a family where kids are 10 or older. That's just because I'm fast and could accidentally knock down small kids.

If you enjoy an active lifestyle, you would like me! We could go hiking, running, boating, heck just about anything would be fine with me. Let's go! I'm ready.
