Often times when an animal's behavior has changed, it's due to a medical issue. This was true for Angelica, a 2-year-old brown tabby cat.

She had periodontal disease that was left uncared for and was causing her tremendous pain. It was not until she was surrendered at the Humane Society of Huron Valley that her illness was discovered and treated.

Angelica needed and received a full dental cleaning and did have to have many of her bad teeth removed. She's made a full recovery and is once again the playful, and affectionate little cat she was before her teeth hurt so badly. She enjoys her catnip toys, likes her cozy cat bed and will seek out head pats.

She purrs in delight now when you visit with her. While her bottom lip sticks out just a bit now, she is able to eat dry and wet food with ease and has no pain at all!

Angelica is looking for a family that likes independent and social kitties. She loves to be petted, but can be selective about her cheek scratches (remember her teeth hurt her very badly), and so she may do best in a household with older children who can learn just the right cheek scratching technique.

This pretty little girl is loved by the staff here at HSHV because of how she will melt in your hands when you pet her. In exchange for all the play time and love this little kitty has to give, Angelica will need to find a family that can make sure she does get regular veterinary/dental checks, and who will give her the love and attention she longs for.
