Meet a gentle senior dog named Kingsley - our Ann Arbor.com pet of the week

Kingsley is an 8-year-old Chihuahua/Rat Terrier Mix

Some dogs need a special home to feel safe and that is the case with our pet-of-the-week, Kingsley. This gentle senior lost his home of eight years because of a divorce. He is waiting for his new family at the Humane Society of Huron Valley.

Change is difficult for pets but can be especially hard for a small 8-year-old Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix who does not understand why his life has been turned upside down. Kingsley will need a home with a patient person who can allow him to adjust and gain his confidence in his new environment. He is an affectionate dog once he gets to know you, and we’ve learned that he likes a quiet place to settle in.

Kingsley is house-trained and does know all of his basic manners and some very cute tricks as well. He should not go to a home with small children and would prefer to be your only lap dog please. If you have been looking for a loving companion to spend yours days and nights with, we do hope you will come to HSHV and meet Kingsley.

HSHV is open daily at 11 a.m. for adoptions. All pets available for adoption are spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, medically and behaviorally evaluated, and they have a microchip ID all included in their low adoption fee. Please make adoption your first option.

The Humane Society of Huron Valley, located in Ann Arbor, was awarded the “Best Large Animal Shelter in Michigan" by the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance, for the second time in a row this year, for saving the most lives. HSHV is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and relies solely on donations from businesses and individuals to support our community programs.

HSHV is not affiliated with the Michigan Humane Society or any other humane organization. The mission of HSHV is to promote responsible and compassionate care of all animals in our community. Please like us on Facebook!

I wish you would report when these sweet animals are adopted so we know everything worked out right for them.
