Families and students are encouraged to attend a free crafting workshop to be held Saturday, March 10th at the Materials Recovery Facility, 4150 Platt Road. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own mosaic tile made from recycled glass, buttons and other reusable products.

This is a great activity for families, clubs and scout groups and can easily be recreated at home. The event will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on March 10. Call 734-794-6000 ext 43118 to make a reservation if you have a group larger than five, as space is limited.

Participants (older than 6) can also join in on an optional tour of the city's recycling plant after the crafting activities. A quick video of the operating recycling plant floor by CTN can be found online.

Free monthly MRF Open Houses give the public a chance to tour Ann Arbor's recycling operations and participate in featured activities. For more information, consult the city website at www.a2gov.org/mrf. Pre-arranged tours of the MRF are also available for groups of 15 or more; call 734-794-6000 ext 43118 for information.
