Ypsilanti police released photos of men they want to question in connection with the abduction of a 25-year-old Ypsilanti woman early Monday morning.

The images, taken from security cameras at the Hamilton Crossing apartment complex, show a man in a hooded sweatshirt believed to be Farrah Cook's ex-boyfriend Jeremy Abston, 27. Police are also looking for a second man, wearing a red and white checked shirt, who they want to question in connection with the abduction.

Cook was getting in her car about 5:45 a.m. Monday in the 500 block of South Hamilton Street when she was grabbed by a man and pulled toward a car, family members said. A second man grabbed her and pulled her into the car, they said.

Approximately 10 people witnessed the abduction and heard her screams, said her brother, Dominique Graham. After speaking with family members and co-workers, police determined Cook was missing.

About 2:15 p.m., police reported Cook had escaped her abductors and was safe. She's been interviewed by police and taken to a local hospital to be treated for a sprained ankle, family members said.

Cook and Abston have three children together, twin 4-year-old girls and a 3-year-old boy.

Police are still looking for the suspects involved. Abston is 5-feet-11 inches tall and weighs 240 to 250 pounds. Beyond the photographs released Monday afternoon, no descriptions have been released for the unidentified man and a woman, both of whom have been called accomplices by police.

Anyone with information on Abston's whereabouts or who recognizes the individuals in these photos is encouraged to call the Ypsilanti Police Department at 734-483-9510 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).

A conceal carry permit at times like this would have come in very handy. You never know what this criminal might have done to her. Assuming he is the one that attempted to abduct her. Very fortunate she was able to escape.

@49 You have been so mislead and domesticated. There are, as Tru stated, 400,000 CCW permit holders in MI. Do you see people shooting each other in the streets? No because CCW permit holders are some of the most responsible and law abiding citizens in the US. Before you state your opinion, know the facts. Why do you want women to be defenseless against thugs and criminals? What do you have against women's right to defend themselves?

"A conceal carry permit at times like this [might] have come in very handy." Fixed.

"her CW", not "your CW"

Considering this was her boyfriend, he would have known where she stowed your CW, thus, disabling her ability to draw it from her person. And, the possibility then existed that he could have used it against her. As it happened no one reportedly was injured. Had she carried it could have had a much worse outcome.

This is not the wild, wild west! Intelligent communities fund public safety departments for such cases. Please let the pros handle their business.

I agree, a concealed defensive pistol would have been handy - and we might be reading about the alleged abductor's funeral in instead of a police search (a happy thought). Not likely though - by July, the number of CC licensees is predicted to reach 400,000+. But compared to the whole adult population, this is just over 5% who will go about their business armed. The criminals still have good odds of finding an unarmed victim; about 19 of 20 Michigan citizens is a pretty large pool to choose from.

More extraordinary work by the officers of the YPD! What a disgrace that our elected officials are more interested in a Family Dollar store than they are with properly funding the Police Department. Why do we allow public safety and officer safety to take a backseat to political gamesmanship?

Extraordinary work by the officers of YPD? I don't think so, the victim escaped by her own efforts, the police were not anywhere around. I sympathize about politicians but you still have to take into account that they have budget problems which outweigh police staffing. Do keep in mind that, in most cities, the police-to-total population is only about 1 in 1000. That's about all the tax payers want to pay and, in practice, this turns out to be enough to suppress crime, capture criminals and settled domestic disputes.

not sure the connection but a dollar store would pay property taxes that would help the city budget wouldn't it?

Oh I agree 100%, YPD is one of the very best Police Departments around. Even though they are overworked they do not give up. Kudos to the YPD. Wish I could give you all the money that you deserve and more officers on the road.
