Ypsilanti police investigating break-in at business

By Kyle Feldscher

Ypsilanti police are investigating a late Sunday burglary at a business on Michigan Avenue where a window was damaged before cash was stolen from the register.

Police said Monday officers responded at 10:30 p.m. Sunday to the 500 block of East Michigan Avenue after being notified of a break-in at a business. According to police, a damaged window at the business was used as the point of entry.

An unknown amount of cash was stolen from the register. Police did not release any suspect information Monday morning.

Police did not say which business had been broken into. Officials have previously said it is department policy not to release the names of businesses that are burglarized.

Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call the Ypsilanti police at 734-483-9510 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).

Well it's either one of the 2 oil change places on Michigan Ave just east of Prospect or one of the businesses in the strip mall across from the Harmony House Hotel. My guess was one of the 2 oil change places because those are the only 2 businesses in the 500 block that closes at night. The strip mall places are in the 600 block. Citgo is open 24 hours a day so it is easy to figure out. They even called AAPD's K9 unit to track the suspects. The K9 unit went flying past my place last night with lights and sirens going headed towards Downtown Ypsi while I was outside with my puppy. Any security camera footage in the area to possibly get a look at? So either Express Quick Lube or the one across the street from Citgo. The one nest to Citgo is too close to them so I am going to guess that it's the one across from Citgo that was broken into.

A2.Com should not have bothered publishing this until they had more to 'print'. Besides, this is pretty weak stuff anyways. How about getting out there and finding out or follow up on the more important things!?

....O.K., here's what I've come up with...my crystal ball is saying it was the ghosts of Bonnie & Clyde, while my Oija board says it was the Flying Dutchman. There's two leads right there!

Let's see...the police won't release the name or specific address of the business where the break-in occurred, where an unknown amount of money was stolen from a register, and no suspect information was released....but anyone with information is supposed to contact them. Hmmmm.....let me get out my crystal ball and Ouija board and see what I can come up with.

You can get out your crystal ball but don't play with the Ouija board.
