Ypsilanti police arrest five juveniles suspected of planning break-in on Collegewood Street

By Kyle Feldscher

Ypsilanti police arrested five juveniles they believe were planning to break into a home in the 600 block of Collegewood Street Thursday.

Police went to Collegewood Street at 10:45 a.m. looking for five suspects who were reportedly going up to houses in the neighborhood and looking into windows, police said. When officers arrived, the suspects were preparing to break into one of the houses on the street, police said.

Two of the suspects were turned over to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office for questioning and the remaining three suspects were brought to the Ypsilanti Police Department. Two of those were taken to juvenile detention on pickup orders.

The five are suspected of being involved in other home invasions in the area, police said. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.

Sallyxyz - I don't believe that they can post photos of the perps if they are minors. Can they? I could be wrong. Also ... The police should give themselves a pat on the back for preventing this crime. :)

Ha. You must be joking. Delinquents don't go to school and parents are non-existent. They are "working" or otherwise out of the house, usually.

I would be interested to know if these 'juveniles' fit the descriptions gathered from some of the break-ins on the other side of Washtenaw...bikes? backpacks?
