Ypsilanti man reports he was stabbed multiple times during fight in parking lot

By Heather Lockwood

A 26-year-old Ypsilanti man drove himself to an area hospital after being stabbed multiple times in the back and head Tuesday, according to an Ypsilanti Police Department media summary.

The man reportedly became involved in a fight in a parking lot in the 700 block of Green Road with a man he knew, police said in the summary. The incident occurred about 10 or 10:30 p.m., but police did not not know what type of weapon was involved.

The victim's injuries are not life threatening, and police said he is unsure whether he wants to press charges.

How awful for River's Edge Apartments community. The Townhouse side across the street is the only side I would ever live on because of all the problems the apartment building hallways and lots seem to have. Why would the victim NOT want to file charges on thier attacker...even if they DID know them? This kinda stuff must be why the rental office there is always locked during office hours.

I can only guess that hospital staff called the police, knowing the patient didn't stab him self. Hope the victim has insurance, because the hospital will charge him! Whether the victim wants to press charges againt the stabber, I guess is up to him. No doubt there is more to the story,

Can't decide to press charges or not?!?!?! Well I suppose it makes a difference if it was a ball point pen or a butcher knife but still... Then again why else wouldn't you, someone who stabs you in the back multiple times is not a "friend". jeez
